About
It all started with a single choice.
I've made a lot of choices that didn't make sense to everyone. The goal used to be more. Then it flipped to enough. I'd make them all again.
The career I walked away from. The faith I found when everything else fell apart. The conversation with my husband that started with what if we did more with less.
There was a before. And then there was after.
The business I'd been building didn't feel true to me anymore. So I reinvented it around the only thing that did.
Handcrafted goods for the heart of the home.
The coffee is homemade. Breakfast is on the table. There's a bible open on the counter and laundry running in the background. The freedom to choose what comes next — and the quiet certainty that whatever it is, it has a purpose.
I used to think I didn't have options. I was wrong.
Nothing matters more than your home and the people in it. Nobody's bottom line has ever been worth more than that. Not for me. I know that now the way you know something you can never unknow — in your bones, settled, certain.
Every choice was leading here.
The A&O Story
I grew up watching someone build something from nothing. My mother ran her own business at a time when that wasn't the obvious path — she stood up for what she believed in, made things happen, and never waited around for someone else to do it first. I didn't realize until much later how much of that I'd absorbed.
Every A&O product is made by my hands, start to finish, in Warwick, Rhode Island. I source the fabric, cut the pieces, sew every seam. No shortcuts, no outsourcing, no drop shipping. Just thread and time and the belief that what comes into your home should be made with the same care you bring to it.
I was tired of waiting for someone else to make what I wanted. So I made it myself.
I think about her every time I sit down at my sewing machine.
I've always written. Long before there was a brand or a business or a reason anyone else would care — I wrote. It's how I make sense of things.
Across the Table is where that goes now. The faith, the hard choices, the beautiful and the unglamorous sides of this life. The things that don't fit neatly into a product listing but need to be said anyway.
If the making is how I tend the home, the writing is how I tend everything else.
If any of this sounds like your life — or the life you're quietly building toward — you're in the right place. Welcome to the table.
